Much of the time the difference between species is obvious, but then there are some that can be difficult to tell. It's quite possible that there are undescribed species still out there and then there may be differences between locale within a given species.
BUT since you specifically mentioned "Giants"- henkeli, Fimbriatus and Giganteous might be confused for each other, though usually the term Giant would refer to the latter two.
They are generally smallest to largest- Henkeli, Fimbriatus, then Giganteous.
Eyes give it away- Henks have a finely reticulated iris on a yellowish or parchment colored background, fimbriatus have heavily reticulated iris on a yellow background and giganteous look like fimbriatus but with white backgrounds.
I don't have any Giganteous (I wish!) but I do have the other two.
