Default New uroplatus phantasticus need advise

Hi, I bought a satanic leaf tail gecko 2 days ago. I haven't finish his enclosure yet, so I'm keeping it in a small container with some dead leaves and coco substrate. The gecko was sold to me as a female, but it arrived wit no tail and I think I can see a little bulge under the remaining part of the tail. The gecko looks healthy, but I feed it hydei fruit flies since it is 5 cm. the problem I have is that it didnt eat any little mealworms I left it and flies.
My question is, should I be worried yet or is this because of the stress of the shipping?

I'm going to house it in a 20 gal cube with a mistking system for rain.
I have read several care sheets and I have keeped cresties before.

Any advise is appresiated.

Thanks

Hi,

Sice your phant is 5cm i think fruitflies are too small. Also i don't know if uro's eat mealworms ( i don't give them to any of my animals). I would give it crickets and raoches.
Keep it cool, 22-24°c and humid.

I would stay away from flies and meal worms with Uroplatus. Small crickets for your new phant will work best. I would add a few sticks from outside and you are golden. The leaf litter is perfect as well as the coconut coir. I would initially mist the substrate to get it slightly damp and then only mist once at night when the lights go out. When they are that young I wouldn't let the temps rise above 78 degrees Fahrenheit.

Position the sticks so that it may rest during the day. They prefer to be higher in the enclosure.
