    Question Food Help?

I'm not sure how to dust my gecko's food. I am not able to buy live food at this time (my parents don't want living insects even after I tried to convince them), so I've been feeding canned crickets and mealworms for about a week. I just want to make sure I can keep him as healthy as I can. He also has a UVB light in his tank.

    Hi ~

A leopard gecko really needs LIVE insects to survive. He depends upon live food for moisture too. Canned crickets and mealworms really aren't all that good for him.

Try lightly dusting the canned insects. See whether the powder sticks a little.

Please tell me more about your UVB bulb: brand, type (compact fluorescent or tube), and strength.

    What size is your enclosure?

If you can't convince your parents to let you keep live feeders, consider re-homing your leo to someone who can.
