    Thanks guys! i appreciate it, i get the height thing, but is it better to be longer than "deeper" for say? As in 24x18 vs 30x12.5?

    If the tank is for leos, then 30 inches x 12.5 inches x 12.5 inches is better because leopard geckos do not climb unless you construct leo worthy ramps and ledges. Those dimensions also allow an UTH which takes up 1/3 of the tank and which makes it easy to establish your thermal gradient!
