    Default Introducing Nugget!

Hi everyone Iím Taylor, Nuggets mom!
Nugget is a rescue whose been though a heck of a lot, from living under a hot red light in a 10gal, with one hide, no humid hide, and no cool side. To being attacked by a cat and not only keeping his tail, but only leaving with two scars, one on his shoulder and one on his tail (that makes me constantly worry that heís going to drop it.) However the best story is how he became my handsome baby boy.

He was initially an animal owned to educate children with disabilities on care taking of things that werenít dogs or cats. However the woman who owned him passed away and just left him to the care of the facility leading to some VERY bad caretaking. It reached the point where shed around his eyes was so built up that he was blind. And thatís when I stepped in. He immediately upgraded to a 30gal tank, with repticarpet and a heat mat instead of Red bulb he had on him 24/7 for almost 4 years. Two new hides and we started immediately hand feeding because the boy couldnít hunt die to the blind thing. two days later we went to the vet. It took almost and hour to remove all of the old shed that had built up, and there was so much inside his eye that it pushed them to the back of the socket. But it was gone and he was put on antibiotics right away. He was so swollen and SO grumpy, but now weíve moved on to helping him gain some weight because heís just a little too thin.

Also! Heís been with me a little over a month and he can see now! His vision isnít incredible due to the damage from the light and the old skin, but he can hunt in a little bowl, and see his surroundings.

I love this little guy so much, heís been through SO much and is Such a resilient geck.
Iíll include his before and after so you can see the difference.

    Thanks for reading
