Question Misting a Leopard Gecko Tank?

I read on a site that you should mist your geckos tank once a night and then let it dry out during the day and this should keep the humidity at the right level. I am currently misting the moss in her moist hide nightly and a I am also misting the fake plants that I have in there nightly. After misting the humidity level goes up to about 80% but then drops very quickly to about 40-50%. She seems to liven up a little after I do this. I think she likes the water on the plants and the other items in the tank. My question is, should I be doing this or should I just mist the moss in the humid hide.

It works for me. I spray it before bed, then wait to watch if the level rises to the correct numbers. Once it's at the correct number, I go to bed. Humidity should be 40-50%, I aim more for 40-ish.

Also, don't over mist, too much humidity can cause respiratory problems/infections.
