Default Is my brothers Leo, Bailey, pregnant?

I joined the forum mostly for my brother, as the geckos belong to him and not me, one thing he grew concerned about was whether she is actually pregnant. I'll upload an image that we took of her underbelly. Also I apologize if I held her wrong. Neither of us have looked after reptiles before.

She's living with one right now. He was told that she is but we wanted to make sure by asking people who have experience with this.

Looks gravid to me, though I'm not an expert. You should definitely separate them immediately. And you need to figure out what you're gonna do with all the babies if you're gonna let them hatch.

We can't seperate them, we don't have anywhere else for the male to go. The people who sold them to him weren't exactly very helpful. If she does have babies he's planning on selling them and giving one to me. He has an incubator and everything and they did tell him that she was pregnant but they never told him to get a seperate home and he spent £150 getting them. Money he doesn't really have. I do think though that they're better off with us. The substrate they had was bark or wood chippings of some kind and they were being fed once a week.

You realise she's gonna produce 10-20 babies, right? If you can't find anywhere to put ONE male, where are you gonna put all those babies? You can't sell them straight from the egg. And you can't just throw them all in a tank together. And who are you going to sell them to? Maybe it's different there (and I hope it is), but the leo market here is completely oversaturated. Low-quality babies just don't sell well. If I were you, I wouldn't even incubate them. See if you can find someone with a monitor. The eggs (assuming they're fertilised) are a good source of nutrition.

Furthermore, it's really unhealthy for the male and female to be staying together 24/7. It's going to be a put of stress on the female and could result in some serious injuries. And she's going to keep producing more as long as she's with the male. Sell off some of your stuff and just buy another enclosure for the male. Look in classifieds ads for used tanks. Most people will sell 20 gallons for about $1/gallon.

I own a lot of leopard geckos, and I breed. She does look gravid. Though it is true, I kept my female with my male all breeding season and got 7 clutches out of her, so if your not looking to breed you should separate them. But if you are breeding then I don't think it's bad to keep them together. I've been breeding leos for 2 seasons now. All my female breeders stay with my male. I have one tank with 4 female and a male and another with 3 females and a male. Though the ones around the same weight I keep together. I've never had any issues with my males and females being housed together. I've never noticed them, stressed or anything. But if you do decide to breed them or keep the eggs feel free to message me with tips!

I think there's a big difference between a group of 3-4 females and 1 male and just 1 male and 1 female. That's a seriously different ratio, and it will increase the stress on the female. In larger groups like that, the chances of issues are greatly decreased. But one-on-one isn't ideal.

I understand that, but I guess my point was that I have a lot of one on one geckos together that have been with each other for a couple of years and they do fine. But I do have more then one hid in all my tanks, regardless of the amount of geckos are in one tank, so if they didn't like each other they could sleep somewhere else in the tank.
Yet again it does depend the the species.

But your point is irrelevant because there's a huge difference between a 1:1 ratio and a 1:4 ratio, so saying the former is fine because you claim to make the latter work is misleading at best and dangerous at worst.
