We are new leopard gecko owners. When I say we I mean my daughter and myself. We got her at 7 months old at a local pet shop that specializes in reptiles for 25 years. She was very healthy when we got her. She was raised on mealworms and showed no interest in crickets or roaches when we got her so I kept her on mealworms. Our gecko is on paper towel, in a 20 gallon tank, with an under tank heater, an overhead 50 watt light for cold days, dry hide is on the UTH, humid hide is in the middle of the tank with moist moss in it, fresh water provided daily, fed mealworms, provided with herptavite once a week and calcium d3 2 to 3 times a week. She seemed to have fallen into a pattern of eating 9 to 10 mealworms every other day. She has shed once since we got her and that shedding occurred about 2 weeks ago. That is also the last time she pooped. She is still eating, but not pooping. We have given her a warm bath soak almost everyday since we noticed the constipation and yesterday gave her a couple of drops of olive oil and today a couple of drops of mineral oil that i purchased today after reading that it works better. The only thing I can think of is if she is ate some moss maybe when she ate her skin after shedding or if she is having trouble digesting her mealworms. Do you have any tips on getting her to go or thoughts on what it could be? Any suggestions on improving my set up to keep her healthy? She is about 9 months old. Could it be eggs? Thank you very very much!
PS I will attach a picture of her belly when I figure out how too.
