    Default Normal shedding behavior?

LOG IN TO CLOSE THIS AD

I've had my 4yr leo for 7 weeks and I'm not seeing the normal shedding stuff I was expecting. In that time, she's never gotten translucent white like I see in most pictures. She gets slightly dull colors, but if I wasn't looking for it, I might not even notice the color difference. I also never see her shed. I've got a motion camera setup with IR lights for nighttime and I have a partial view inside her hot hide, but I've never seen any activity that would look like she's shedding. Given how much moving around there is for shedding, I'm surprised I didn't capture something. Our family looks at the camera ever morning to see what she did every night, but never see anything that looks like shedding.

Also, she never goes in her humid hide, again with the camera, I can tell you she has never once gone inside. Once she stuck her head in, but has never gone fully in. Should I remove it and replace it with something else?

She also recently started licking her lips a lot, not sure if that's related. I can't see any mouth sores and she has no problem grabbing meal worms and eating them.

Is your warm humid hide located on the warm end right on top of the heat mat?

Yes, right next to the hot hide and under my supplemental CHE so I think it's got good heat.

Could she have shed during the day? Maybe she's waiting until nobody is watching.

    1. What's the humidity in the room where your leo's enclosure sits?
    2. What substrate is in her humid hide?
    3. Does she have a water dish?
    4. What powdered supplements does she have (brand, name, frequency)?

    1 - I don't have a way to check humidity
2 - It was sphagnum moss, but switched to paper towels last week to test.
3 - Yes, which I see her go to almost every day.
4 - Calc/D3 on Mondays, Reptivite on Wed, no supplement on Sat. ZooMed brand

Some other odd (at least to me) behaviors:
    * She likes to freeze like a statue in odd places for a seemingly long time, 15-20min. Both feet up the side of her water rock bowl or staring into her food dish, or just stopped in the middle of walking somewhere. She's active at night with no obvious signs of physical movement problems.

    * She stays in her hot hide all day (which I read is normal) but then she spends a lot of time in her cold hide at night which doesn't make sense since temps are much lower.

    * she never climbs on anything. I see pics of Leo's climbing all over stuff. Mine is pretty active every night, walking around the tank. I heard Leo's can get bored so maybe I need to buy some accessories.

Unrelated question, I don't like dealing with lights/Che that sit on mesh lid, so I went with the clamp solution but it means I don't have a top. I don't have any other pets and there nothing in her cage that she could climb on to get out. Any concerns with this?

How about ordering a humidity gauge?

Clamp solution- take a picture of the enclosure with this on top

    Three new things have happened.

    (1) she fell asleep for 4 hours with front legs perched on her water bowl. I'm having trouble posting a pic right now, but imagine front legs 1" off the ground with body laying up the side of the dish. Soon after the light came on she climbed down and went to her hot hide. Weird, right?

    (2) she went in her humid hot three times two nights ago including for over an hour.

    (3) she stopped eating 3 days ago. Today is her second feeding showing no interest.

So I started thinking all this strange behavior was because she's ovulating/gravid. Apparently this is the time of year. I started a separate thread with a picture to get some advice.

    Is my gecko ovulating?
