Default 4-5 month old leopard gecko stopped eating, climbing all the time

    Hi all

Over the last few days my Leo has stopped eating and shes trying to climb all the time while she is awake. If I hold out some food in front of her, she ignores it and just tries climbing on my hand instead.

Shes only been like this for about 4 days and i've had her almost three weeks. Ive seen her eat a meal worm or two but that's it.

The only change ive made is I have switched the size of her crickets for small to medium.

Here is a picture of the vivarium. (cricket still in there from a few mins ago, I remove them overnight)

Top right, warm dry hide, just measured it, 32 degrees, bottom left is a small heatmat just for that corner and is the moist hide at 31. The top left is a skull at 23 degrees and the area near the food bowl is about 24. Current air temp is 24.

This might be nothing but it just seems odd that she climbs all the time and doesn't seem to eat anymore. It's cute that shes climbing right onto my hand but I can't help worry something is wrong in her tank.

She may be ovulating which changes behavior temporarily and also leads to reduced (or absent) eating. Just keep offering and she should settle down soon.

Default New leo not eating (much), first time owner? Is she ovulating? Video inside

    Hi all

As said above my leo has stopped eating as of 5 days ago apart from a couple of mealworms and today she ate a waxworm.

I could be about to make a complete fool of myself and find that she is actually a he. Also I have no idea how old this leo is. When I got her, the pet shop said she was 1 month old, but someone on here pointed out that's not possible because her tail is slightly fat and too big.

She currently weighs 38 grams and is just under 7 inches. I THINK shes going into ovulation for the first time, I also seem to see a pink-cream circle on her belly but I am not sure.

Here are the videos. Sorry they arnt any better quality

What do you think? Just keep offering food?

I've merged your two threads into one. It's the same gecko, same problem.

    Thanks Hilde

It's really hard to get a good picture of her underside because if I try and lean her over or anything she freaks out so I am trying not to stress her however I think I have the moneyshot here in this video because its from the rear camera and in light:-

That's got to be it at 14-17 seconds right?

Yes, she's ovulating. Keep offering. She'll eat eventually. Try not to worry and don't get her hooked on waxworms.
