Hello, okay so I've had my leopard gecko for about a year more or less and his name is Mardy bum, he's adorable Everything was going great, until about two to three days ago I noticed that he was not eating and his skin felt cold but the heating lamps were and are working and everything was okay so I didn't know why he felt so cold then I notice he keeps avoiding the heating lamp as much as possible and he goes to a corner and kind of just stay sthere or he lays in his water bowl all day, it's not deep so I know he won't drown but it's really worrying me. I feel like I'm may be worrying too much but I also feel like his tail is getting thinner and I don't know what this means so I don't know what to do please help.

Is it only for 2–3 days he hasn't been eating, and do you know how old he is? I've had leos' appetites drop off sharply when they reach adulthood. They just don't need to eat so much anymore.

Soaking in his water dish all the time is cause for concern. That and lack of appetite could mean he's impacted. Is he on a loose substrate (e.g., sand) that he could accidentally ingest?

He might just be trying to cool down. What are the temps in the hottest and coolest parts of his tank? If the weather is warming up where you are, he may be getting too hot. Lamp lights may also stress him out if he doesn't have a place to hide and get away from the light, and stress could decrease his appetite.

Some parasites might cause leos to avoid the warm sides of their tanks and lose their appetites. If you suspect that, you can send a fecal sample to the vet for testing.
