    Default Hemipenis infection?

    Hey,

yesterday in the night something woke me up and I heard one of my geckos screaming. It was pretty loud. It's a gecko I put aside in a terrarium without a substrate because he hasn't been properly eating for couple of months now. I found some green poop in his former terrarium as well. He has been in the new terrarium for about a week, ate two superworms and his poop looks normal now.
So anyway, I got up and checked on him and saw him licking his "underside". It looked rather ghastly because it was all open and dark. I checked him again this morning and it doesn't look that bad when closed, just a but darker on the edges. I guess it hurts him considering the screaming.

He lost some weight too. He is pretty small for a being about 1 year old.

I just put him on the top of his glass terrarium and checked his junk with a flashlight and it looks totally normal. Maybe it was opened that weird because he was licking it, so he kinda opened it.
I also gave him a warm bath in some water and honey (with extra propolis). I also noticed though, that when he is partially leaning against glass and going by it he drags his right hind leg a bit. Maybe his butt is itchy, I donīt know. Parasites maybe?
I googled some hemipenis infections and it totally doesnīt look nearly as bad.

I don't think the weight loss is significant. If his hemipenis is no longer protruding it's likely not prolapsed. Given the extreme reaction he had I would recommend a vet visit.

Thanks Aliza. I will be giving him the honey baths each evening and I'll schedule a vet appointment next week.

Btw I agree that the weight loss isn't significant, but he should have already been twice as big. I have never seen adult leopard gecko this small.

I found a little pebble (about 5mmx5mm) couple of minutes ago in his enclosure. Seems like he might have passed it. It might have fallen out from the things he has inside, but I doubt it. It would have fallen out already. I actually once even saw him trying to eat a pebble, much bigger than this one. I'd immediately changed the substrate back then.
So, maybe he will get better now, it would explain a lot.

Gave him another bath just now, he seems to enjoy it. Doesnīt fight at all, just stands there with his bum submerged. When I take him out he is just licking the excess water from his face and mouth. I guess he likes the sweetness.

Do you know anything about this gecko's siblings?
