I'm sorry that Bowie's behavior is so challenging.
I hope the bleeding clots. I sincerely hope that Bowie makes it through the night.
Please brainstorm & ask your vet about the feasibility of a custom cone like I've described.

Good morning, I picked up his little house this morning expecting the worst but he was in there behaving his usual self. There were several more little blood 'stamps' around the cage but not any truly worrying amounts.
The vet is unable to see him before the weekend but says I can call in the mornings to see if there was any cancelations. I soaked him this morning because he was very cakey with blood but my game plan for now is to just not touch him. I can't medicate or assist feed because he thrashes and will open himself up again/more.
I will lift his hide twice a day just to see that he is doing okay. I don't have a lot of options with the booboo being in his vent, and also in a lickable area.. I've been having a hard enough time with him licking eye drops up after administration. I don't think he would tolerate any kind of cone, he has taken to violent face rubbing when I try to drop meds on his snoot.
I think he is just 100% fed up with being manhandled everyday for three weeks and I don't blame him. I know he's not a wild animal, but I guess it's up to nature at least for a few days. Sorry I don't have anything more concrete..Post Thanks / Like - 0 Thanks, 1 LikesElizabeth Freer liked this post
