Default Scooby hasn't had a black poo in almost 2 weeks...

    This seems off for him.

He ate two large dubia roaches almost two weeks back. A couple days later he wanted more food. I gave him about 5-6 large crickets. He should have pooped by now. Normally, when I feed him crickets a couple days after eating dubia roaches he'll poop. I gave him a warm bath the other day, which he really enjoyed (he loves warm baths, LOL). I also took him out and let him run around on my bed, hoping the combo of warm bath and running him would cause a bowel movement. He did poop a large white turd, but nothing dark.

Today I did his thorough tank cleaning, hoping he'd want to mark his territory after every thing smells so clean. Nothing so far...

I also gave him a drop of olive oil on his mouth to lick off. Not sure what else to do. I hope he's not impacted from one of those large dubia roaches. That would be a first.

    Any advice?

In my opinion, if his behavior is normal, he's eating and everything else looks OK (i.e. he's not bloated, lethargic, straining), there's not much to do but wait and hopefully soon you'll see a HUGE present. Some of mine have gone that long with no ill effects.

Well, he shed several days ago and has also eaten his skin. That was the other reason I'd thought he'd have pooped by now. He hasn't acted hungry in several days. I can tell when he's hungry just by rustling his cricket's calcium bag. He hears it and runs out to the edge of the glass, looking down to watch me prepare his bugs. I have to remember it is winter now and his metabolism has slowed down. I hope he's okay.

Scooby left me a present in his tank this morning!

    Thanks AC.

Elizabeth, if you read this, I did a search here on "poop" and found an old thread where you recommended using olive oil, a warm bath, and rubbing his belly from front to back. Lastnight, I rubbed some olive oil on his lips, and soaked him in warm water while rubbing his belly. He is so funny when I set him down in a warm container of water. He'll close his eyes...like, "Ahhhhhhh". He let me rub his belly and even arched to give me better access. He is so adorable. I love my gecko. He likes to just sit there, and soak, and look around the room. When the water starts cooling down, he lets me know he wants out. He had some skin on his fingers from this last shed, so I got all of that off as well.

Anyway, he finally pooed. I have to get him some crickets today! He's usually hungry after a big poo, LOL.

Your Geckos Unlimited "poop" search yielded meaningful results, GeckoFanboy! You and Scooby have a special bond!

I'm happy Scooby responded with a BIG gift after all the TLC you gave him.

I don't know how I missed BOTH your messages yesterday, Your thread didn't show up for me until right now.
