    Default Heat Tape in UK?

LOG IN TO CLOSE THIS AD

Im looking for some heat tape (preferably THG) for a rack but cant seem to find any available in the UK.

Does anyone know of anywhere i would be able to order it from?

Would it even work the same as the US uses a different voltage to the UK?

Have you checked out Swell Reptiles -- a reptile supplier based in the UK?

Yeah that was one of the first places i checked as thats where i get quitr a few things from. But they only do heat strips which would end up being expensive for a rack as id have to buy 5 of them.

Seems really stupid. After days of looking iv only found 1 place in Canada which could ship to me but they ssy if have to order 100 feet when i only need 10 feet.

Are there any UK or EU herp societies or groups (including FaceBook) to network with other breeders using racks and heat tape? It seems like some supplier might vend at the frequent Hamm shows.

Omg what a legend you are. I dont k ow why that never occured to me! It was only a week ago i had to buy an adapter as thr heat cable came with a US plug.

All this headache for such a simple solution. It will work wont it? Something like this?

I wasn't really sure how it'd work out but if your already doing it with the cable I don't see a reason it wouldn't, but I'm not an electrician so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Well there is a difference. The heat cable works fine with UK voltage it just came with a US plug for some reason so i just had to buy a cheap 1 travel adaptor. But for this id have to buy a proper converter to change the current to 110v.

I messaged 1 THG supplier and they said it doesnt work as far as they know. Another said he knew of people who have done it but woulsnt endorse it. So i guess it would work.
