You could use eco earth (powdered coconut husks). It holds the moisture for quite awhile and, of course, I never bother to check the temp.

I second the powdered coconut husk suggestion.
Here's a suggestion for cutting a nice entrance hole in food containers- use a hot soldering iron, and melt an opening. It's easy to get smooth edges this way.

The eco earth definitely helped! But now I am wondering if there is a humidity range for humid hides?! Can it get too high?!

Any humidity level is fine for the humid hide in my opinion.
