Cal-D every other feeding.
Cal-without D in-between.
Mult V on one feeding every two weeks.
When I noticed the armpit bubbles I cut out the calcium on meals and only did cal-D on one feeding a week and kept the Mult V the same.
I seen a small decrease in the armpit bubbles but yesterday I noticed they got bigger I scared to not use the cal with d at lease once a month because I don’t want MBD...
I’m so confused because the breeder kept calcium in the tank and dusted with feedings no problem, so why is he getting just big armpit bubbles with me?

- Which brand D3 calcium are you using?
- Which brand multivitamin?
Age changes metabolism. Growing geckos generally require more calcium carbonate than mature geckos do.
Vitamin D3 is fat soluble. That means a single dusting of D3 calcium sticks around ALL week and metabolizes plain calcium during that specific week.
I don't supplement my 17.5 year old Ptychozoon kuhli ("flying" gecko). She has huge calcium sacs on either side of her face. As far as I can see, she has no signs of MBD.
She seems to get all the nutrients she needs from the crickets I feed her. I feed the crickets 24/7 with finely ground Zoo Med's ADULT Bearded Dragon Food. Maybe my cricket's diet is too rich for her?Last edited by Elizabeth Freer; 12-01-2020 at 04:57 PM.
