Default Does your leo like to be petted?

I am discovering that my 4 year-old, grumpy leo, Scooby, likes to have the top of his head petted...right behind his eyes to about his midneck. He loves it. He even fell asleep on my lap one night while rubbing his head. He also loves when I rub the sides of his belly. He'll be walking across the tank and I'll lean in and rub his belly side and he just stops and lets me do it. Anybody else?

When I first got my Leo, she was very skittish and would run off when I try to pet her head. Now she's very comfortable, she would close her eyes and let me pet her.

From my experience, my gecko seems to like head rubs but dislikes back rubs. Other people say their gecko hates getting pet in general. I guess it’s just different for every gecko.

My gecko likes the top of his head being petted. He does not like you rubbing his back though.

My male is an attention hog. Head, chin, sides - really as long as not touching his back/tail he will contentedly sit there and half-close his eyes like its the best ever. My female will crawl all over me and willingly come to my hand, but does not seem to enjoy any other kind of contact. It's gotta be on her terms only, like a cat.

Yes, they do half close their eyes when you pet them on the head. It really is like they enjoy it, in the same way a cat or dog enjoys it! I tell people that they can also be moody. Some days my Scooby is friendly and other days he just does not want to be bothered. He can be grumpy.

I know one thing, my gecko really enjoys taking a warm bath. He loves that. He just sits there and basks, and will often squint his eyes as well. He lets me pour spoonfuls of water over him.

The one thing I love about spring rolling in is my male gecko comes alive. He's not as reclusive. He spends more time out of his hides. He likes to be held more. Sunday is daylight savings time. I have to reset his timer on his day light tonight. He needs more hours of light now.
