I am trying to save my Grand Gecko, Uzi!! He is moving slow, it seems as though it is difficult to eat and his little legs are folding under and I have to touch him to make him straighten them back out. I did NOT allow him to get to this point as he belonged to my son (yes, I'm ticked), but I am trying to get him back healthy. I Hope it's not too late!! No poop in Idk how long!! Doesn't go to water bowl or eat calcium powder. I have blue bulb on in the day and red at night to keep at 90. PLEASE HELP!!

What dimensions is Uzi's enclosure? Leos can see both red & blue lights. Buying an appropriately sized Ultratherm heat mat is your best bet. That will keep his ground temps between 88-92*F. A healthy leo also needs a cool end in the low to mid 70s"F. You'll probably need a thermostat too.

Please share a 60 second video of Uzi walking around on some solid surface like a carpet.

It sounds like Uzi might have Metabolic Bone Disease. I'll probably be able to tell IF you post a video of him walking. MBD happens because of a lack of vitamin D3 in a gecko's regular diet.

The medical term for Metabolic Bone Disease = Nutritional Secondary HyperParathyroidism. NSHP symptoms include leaning to one side when walking, walking on one or both "elbows", bowed limbs, belly dragging, and an underbite. Difficulty chewing should be closely monitored.

I gave him a warm soak and rubbed his belly because he still has not pounds, but the good news is, he ate two calcium powder covered ,meal worms today!! I did put a warming mat under his hot side.

Can you give him a bigger enclosure like a 20 gallon long: 30 x 12 x 12 inches tall?

2. What exact type of calcium do you have? Please share the exact brand & name. (Calcium with D3? xxx? a multivitamin? which one?)
3. Does he have 3 hides: warm dry, warm humid, & cool dry?

Sometimes leos catch their claws on repticarpet. Repticarpet is difficult to keep clean. I recommend using 2 layers of paper towels right now.

TEMPERATURES - A temperature gradient from warm to cool maintains your leo's health. Here's a temperature guide for all leopard geckos as measured by the probe of a thermostat, a digital thermometer, or a temp gun. Set your thermostat at 91*F/32.8*C. Make certain all heat sources are controlled by either an ON/OFF thermostat or by a dimming thermostat.

It's recommended that basking area temps be somewhat higher than 91*F/32.8*C when using a halogen bulb for heat & "a patch of sunlight".

Tape the thermostat's probe and a digital thermometer's probe together, but offset a little. Place them right on top of the substrate underneath the warm dry hide. If you use a UTH + a CHE you'll need 2 separate thermostats, because ground and air temperatures are substantially different.

• Warm dry hide ground temperature: 88-92 F (31.1-33.3 C) inside a leo's warm dry hide.
• Warm humid/moist hide: Place the humid hide 100% on top of the heat mat. Keep temperatures similar to the warm dry hide.
• Cool dry hide ground temperature: 70ish-75 F (21.1-23.9 C) Usually the cool end ground temperature matches the room temperature where the enclosure sits.
• No greater than 82ish F (27.8ish C) surface temperature - 4 inches (10 cm) above ground on the warm end
• No greater than 75 F (23.9 C) surface temperature - 4 inches (10 cm) above ground on the cool end

Leave your heat mat on 24/7 IF ambient room temperatures drop lower than 67ish*F (19.4*C). If NOT, during the night turn off overhead lighting/heating (~12 hours on and ~12 hours off).

For whatever reason I can NOW see both your videos. Please share a 2nd video that focuses closely on Uzi's front legs.

Uzi's back legs look alright. His right front leg bends a little. I wonder if it could be broken or bent. I'd like to see both front legs much better.
