Default Hatchling morph help - possibly hyper-melanistic?

    Hello!

I had a leopard gecko hatchling hatch this morning, and strangely itís showing morph characteristics I wasnít expecting. Both parents are normal/high yellows, and the breeder I bought them from told me theyíre both het for bell albinism. All offspring from this pair beforehand this season have been normal, but this hatchling looks quite unusual... it has a very dark head and tail with dark and bright yellow splotching on its body. The closest thing I could find on the internet is hyper-melanistic, and Iíd be inclined to call it that if it werenít for the alleged genetic background of the parents and the bright yellow splotching. I did find a picture on the internet of a hyper-melanistic hatchling that looks almost exactly like my hatchling though.

Any help with or thoughts on this little guy?

Nice looking gecko. Note that what should be horizontal bands on the tail and the body are broken and irregular. This is part of the striping genes and you oould call your gecko a "jungle". You're going to have to wait until it matures to know whether or not it's hypermelanistic. I have hatched geckos who were very dark, and even went through a period where the yellow was tinged with black. Most of them, once they were a few months old, lightened up considerably.
