ok so i just got a new female jungle giant about a week n a haft ago n she doesnt seem to wanna eat atleast in front of me i have never seen her eat or even look interested in ne of the food i gave her ive tried mealies super mealies n crickets n nothing i have her housed with a norm female could she be bullying her or am i in trouble? any advice would be great thanks
You can try to separate her from the other gecko. It shall be much easier to see if she has eaten. If you see then that see still hasn't eaten, you can take her to the vet. Maybe she has some kind of infection. If that so, go with the normal female to the vet too.
I have had this happen to me before too. Does your leo have a nice fat tail? If so then do not panic yet. I have had a couple leos that I bought, instead of ones I hatched out, and it took 2-3 weeks before they would eat. Our local mentor in the gecko world said that they sometimes get stressed out and won't eat for a time. Also make sure that it is warm enough on the bottom of the cage. I also agree with the other reply. I would defiintely separate them for now. Even though she may look healthy you must be careful. If she doesn't start eating soon go ahead and take her to a vet just to make sure.
thanks i have a pretty big heat pad under it so im sure shes warm i also separated today. shes close to a year old her tail is nice i mean it aint fat fat but fat enuff thanks for ur advice ill keep you's posted lol
As long as she poops, she eats.
Same thing happened when I got my first gecko. What I did was placing a piece of paper infront of his hide, so to avoid eating sand, then put half-dead mealworms on it, then he ate.
