Exclamation Autotomy pics

This is the tail of one of my male leopard geckos. A grashopper was holding on to it's tail, and Keto got scared, annoyed, or angry....and then dropped it's tail. It kept on wriggling for a while, and when it finally laid still, I took this pictures.
The last foto shows Keto's body, short after the autotomy.

Greetz,

Cindy

Umm....eww?

It is quite interesting to see what it all looks like, though...I guess...haha, no, no, it really is interesting. I've often been curious about this talent leos have.

Hey, Keto looks cute without a tail (except for the bloody stump). I wish there was a type of leo that was like that--or maybe just a really really short tail. That would be awesome!

Argh! Thanx for that lol!

Freaked me out a bit now, I'm gonna be extra gentle with mine for a while (not that I'm usually rough) :S

Don't forget that they keep their fat reserves in their tails so make sure he gets a bit of grub in him

Ham, eh? My first thought was grapefruit.

All kidding aside, I do wish the little fellow well. I hope everything heals alright for him, Cindy.
