Also,

Who uses aspen bedding and woodchips? Aren't wood chips poisonous?

I use repti-carpet. I tried sand but my poor three legged kept sinking right down in it she likes the carpet better easier to move lol

I know what it can do but i'm saying such a THIN layer like the dusty musky stuff you get when you kick up the sort of rocky deserts like in arizona etc that sort of thin layer thats on top.

So can feeding meal worms. So can poor husbandry (the actual main cause of impaction). Lot's of things CAN happen. If you bother to take the time and read this thread as intended, you might actually learn a thing or two about substrates and leopard geckos. I feed mostly mealworms, and haven't had a single gecko get impacted from them, why? Because I keep my temperatures high. I have my hot spot up to 95-96F, this keeps the geckos nice and warm with perfect temperatures to properly digest their foods. Same with sand, a few licks of sand isn't going to do to much harm if they have good husbandry (temps high, water bowl present, etc.).

For the poll, I use either blank paper towel or nothing at all.
