If he is an adult he can be fed every other day or so. Pictures would be nice. What are you feeding him?

Honestly with out the pics it is impossible for us to give you an idea if he is fat. The diet sounds reasonable.

There's nothing like cutting down his diet a little if it worries you. If he's eating, say, 5 crickets every day then just cut it down to 3-4, and maybe cut out the wax worms. Each wax worm is like a tripper burger, so removing that alone may be just what he needs to maintain a healthy weight.

I don't know about your gecko, but mine love to climb things and explore. I just switched them to racks but when they were in tanks I tried to give them rocks and branches to climb and the exercise is good for them. You could try redecoraitng too, see if he'd be interested in climbing around.

WEll I took the wax worms out of the equation.. Just a couple crickets and now a few mealworms a day.. First time feeding him mealworms today, I fed them from my hand and he gobbled them up.

Mealworms have lots of fat...i feed my leo mealworms NOW AND THEN, so try not to feed him mealies every day. My gecko is also going thru a "fatty" stage. I feed her zoo-med canned mealworms and crickets EVERY DAY! and she looked like a BALLOON! Anyway i just cut out the mealworms, switched back to live crickets, and now feed her every other day. shes slowly going back to healthy weight, but i gotta remodel my terrarium so she can excersise more and maybe climb some stuff so she gets healthy as soon as possible.

I think a varied diet is the best plus it switches it up for the lizard being kept. Personally i use a cricket/mealworm basis for the diet with other feeder insects in there for variety. I have started using silkworms also which from the nutritional breakdown is very good for them. Harder to keep (special food) and more expensive then other feeder insects. Take a look at a breakdown here for nutritional values.
