Well, you obviously need to address what environmental conditions need to be changed in order to allow your leo to shed correctly. And seeing that there's raw exposed wounds, the first thing I'd do is take it off the sand and put it on paper towels. Make sure temps are high enough. Make sure to provide a humid shed box. And start giving daily soaks in a small shallow bowl of warm water.

Owww. Yeah , you should remove him from sand to prevent some to get in the wounds.
Btw thats what the tail looks like when they have lost their tails ? Never saw a Leo with a tail like this.

Poor little leo
What has happened with his tail? How did he lose it?
I had same tail problems with my iguana, and Ca helped alot. Although it is night gecko, be sure that adding of UVB lamp can provide a better digesting and improve Ca getting into blood faster. Give him higher doses of multivitamin and stop giving him tenebrio or zophobas ig he is eating it. Lateralis or crickets will do fine. Make sure to have enough water and as admin said put it on paper towels.
One question: Is that gecko alone in the vivarium?

That's my question too! It looks like droppings, but it's not leo droppings...

If you feed crickets: Do not leave them in the tank. They can start eating of the wounds, so make sure the leo eats all crickets in a few minutes

Ok to answer all of your questions. When I bought him his tail was that way they said he lost it and that is how they grow back. Tail has never been a problem. I have had him for at least 6 yrs he has always been in enclosure alone. Live food is never left in with him and he has never had any problems shedding or otherwise. this is the first time he has had a problem shedding and he will shed and then seemed like he sheds again very quickly afterwords, like just a few days. The spot on his tail looks like an open wound but yet seems like thin layer of skin is still there. Has anyone ever experienced this sort of thing before.

1. Clear out the tank, put paper towel as the floor (open wound needs to heel). Just leave 3 hides, humid hide, warm hide and cool hide.
2. Put neosporin, without the pain relief, on her tail twice a day after a warm soak each time.

Temps should be 90-97F on the warm side, and 78-83F on the cool side.
