They should. It's a product malfunction.

This has never happened to me. Sounds like a faulty peice of equipment. Try to take it back (they should take it back if you have the reciept). If you are able to return it, try plugging the new one in before you take the sticker off, to make sure it's working properly.

What are ' sticky bumps ' ? I am only a noob but your set up sounds wrong .Be careful of electricity !

The "sticky bumps" are the little plastic "feet" that are included with the UTH to put on the corners of the tank bottom so the tank is lifted up a bit to vent the UTH. If your UTH is sparking, I agree that it's probably defective. It happens sometimes. Peel it back off the tank and take it to where you got it. When they plug it in, the same thing should happen and they should replace it. Hopefully you still have your receipt. If not, try going back to the same place and find the same salesperson who sold you all the stuff, in the hopes that s/he will remember you.

I responded in the other place you posted. IF something sparks and then stops working, it means that two wires crossed and it shorted out. Definitely a good idea to take it back.

Either place would have done, but you saw you got many more replies in the Leopard gecko forum, so that's probably a better place to ask. Make sure not to post duplicate threads though. If you want a thread moving or deleting, just click on the report port button and explain you need the thread moving or deleting and a moderator will sort it out for you.

Posts from the duplicate thread have been moved here.

You can get a digital thermometer/hydrometer at Walmart for $3. Water bowl can be anything, I use yogurt cups cut down to 1" tall, spray bottle at walmart for $1. and a UTH can be found for $10. Those kits tend to be a rip off. Lol.

Actually though, the price of this kit saved me about ten dollars and it was the last stuff I needed, I already have makeshift hides and bowl and I gathered all my leo gecko materials very cheap if they were not already household items. I'm a bargain finder xD
