I was also wondering about those. I think the crickets would all go out at once and annoy the gecko, but i could be wrong.

I think it's sort of strange. I don't like crickets at all and they stink. I wouldn't want to keep that stinky thing in with my geckos. You also have more control over how many you feed if you do it by hand. I'd say don't get it. It's prolly just going to end up a waste of $.
Just my $0.02

i have one, i think it was a gift.

i used it once and it's been in a box in the closet for years. the dimensions make it a pain, too. unless it's sitting in the middle of the enclosure away from the glass, it blocks off a whole corner or leaves a small "tunnel" between the base and the glass where the crickets can hide.

the only benefit i can imagine would be to leave a piece of vegetable or fruit inside as gutload and leave the whole thing in the tank if you were going to be away for a few days.

That's just what I was thinking. I don't go away often, but I hate the though of my baby being left hungry.

aside from peace of mind it's not worth it. a leopard gecko isn't going to starve in a week, that's what their fat tails are for. just feed it well before you leave. putting too many crickets in the enclosure, even in one of those feeder rocks, is just as likely to stress your gecko as it is to give them a steady supply of food while you're gone.

Yeah, you're right. One problem I have is retrieving uneatten crickets from the viv, and I was hoping that this would provide a 'drip feed' instead, but I knew it couldn't be that easy!
