Question red light 24/7?

There is no heat in my appartment right now so it is a little on the chilly side. Is it ok for my leo to leave the red heat light on 24 hours a day until the heat gets fixed? My UTH alone this time of year doesnt make the right temps for day and now not for night either.

Something is better than nothing! I'd leave it on all the time just for heat, until the heat comes back on at least.

If it's just a temporary thing it shouldn't be an issue.

Red heat lamps are infared and not seen by the reptile. It should be fine for a heat source.

That's actually a myth. There's scientific evidence that geckos can indeed see red light. Ceramic heat emitters are actually a much better choice for heating as they don't put off any light at all. But if it's just for a few days or a week, it's not going to hurt anything to leave it on. Better to have the light on than to have it get too cold.

Should I then replace the red light with a ceramic heat emitter?
More spacifically, would that be better for Star?
