Default new leopard gecko owner

Hi first message on here so bare with me haha I have 2 leos they were on ground walnut for substrate then my big guy seemed blocked so gave mineral oil and applesauce. Got rid of that substrate quick went to paper towel (is it warm enough on their tummys) I spoke to another pet store owner and he swears that cocopeat is the best substrate, but i here so many different things about substrates im a little confused would love any feed back

Hello! Welcome to GU!
I think that slate tiles are the best substrate. They are cheap, easy to clean, have no risk of impaction, and hold heat well. I tired them in one of my tanks and now I'm a firm believer in them! I'm currently switching all of my tanks with heat elements over to slate tile substrate.
Paper towels work just as well. And it's what I'm using until I get the chance to run to the hardware store for more tiles.
Also, here's the best Leopard gecko care sheet ever (in my opinion):http://www.geckosunlimited.com/commu...11-update.html
