I agree with Kelly, two would be enough for that space, remember they are not social animals and they do not care for company, so, it is important that they have enough space to be away from each other if they want to, and also, feed separately all the times, I have 2 girls in a 25 gallon tank, but I put 12 hides there, so they can be as apart from each other as they want, I tried to put a third female there and the new girl started attacking the others, so, you can never be sure if they´ll get along fine, better to have a back up tank just in case!!
