Not likely if you're talking about the inbred, morphed out, ghost of what used to be leopard geckos that most people own these days. There's no shortage of leos in the wild though.

I would say the difference is equivalent to the difference between a wolf and a house dog, I hardly think any captive leo could survive in the wild

Two of my leos would do just fine but my male wouldn't. He doesn't seem to possess the instincts of his ancestors.
