Default skinny gecko...new owner.... seperate the two ladies?

hello all.... im sorry to be so bothersome im just very worried about my gecko Elvis.... she really has not grown much since i got her and i feel like shes not getting the proper nutrition or is just stressed to the point that she wont eat.... I hand feed her a mealworm last night until she wiggled her way out of my hand and back into the enclosure. I also have my other gecko in this 20 gallon long tank and im contemplating seperating the little one into a 10 gallon until she gets some more confidence.... just wondering what I should do because i dont want to loose the little girl

Hello Cofinator,

Can you provide some more details? Temperatures? Food items offered? Supplements? How long have you had Elvis? A picture of the enclosure if possible will be very helpful.

I thought your username sounded familiar. Is this the same gecko in your previous posts?

thanks for responding cricket....

im still waiting for my thermostat to arrive from big apple so the temp im guessing has to be around 87-92.5 on the hot side between the analog petco gauges i have and a digital thermometer with the probe i may have the probe thermometer laying on the tile....not sure if thats the correct way to read the temp.

ive been feeding them mealworms in a single mealworm dish... maybe i need to get another... ive been using Repti Calcium without D3 from zoo med as well with the mealworms.

Ive had them both since Jan. 9th...I had them in a 10 gallon tank for about a week. I had calci-sand in there first then switched it to coral sand....then switched to paper towel then to slate tile which is in my current 20 gallon long tank.

working on the tank picture for you. thanks

Your getting there The humid hide should be close to the warm side ,but not entirely over the heat mat. You should have a dry side hide there. When you house more than one gecko, it's best to provide 2 hides in every temperature gradient. I am tempted to say seperate them , but I feel that they are probably stressed from the changes as it is. So did you put the probe and check the temp over the hot side?
