Default Leopard Gecko: Concerned about our new baby

Hello All!

I am new but I have been reading posts and archives since we brought our new leo home just under a month ago.

My son recieved the Zilla dessert kit from Santa for Christmas.....Once we got it set up and the heat regulated we went out shopping for our (his) new pet. We ended up with Yoshi, a yellow and white morph. Gosh I love that little lizard!

I thought he was fine till tis last week.
*Not a big appetite like when we brought him home, his appitite started to die back after the 2nd week, now he hasn't eaten for 2 days. I am feeding crickets and mealworms with calcium.

*I really think HE is a SHE (don't tell my son) so do Leos sense human hormones like my iguanas use to?

*Runny stool tonight when I cleaned the cage.

Yoshi is about 7 months old as far as I know, about 4-5 inches long. We were told he was 6 months when we got him.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Didn't eat again last night, I am really getting worried. I will work on getting a picture up today.

Yes, I put the calcium in the bowl with the mealworms and then drop the crickets in there to get a dusting of it before they get out. We have been removing one leg of the crickets to slow them down for him.

Hello,

Read over this care sheet to make sure temperatures and supplements are correct. If the loose stools continues he will need to have a fecal exam done by a reptile veterinarian. Also make sure not to handle him much for the first month which can lead to stress and illness.

These night temps are fine, but your day temps are way too cool. Leos depend upon belly heat to properly digest their food. Air temperatures are just as important. The temps on the warm end of the tank should range from 92-95 F. 70s are fine for night temps and/or for the cool end of the tank.

How are you heating his habitat?

The calcium should be phosphorus-free calcium with D3 for lightly dusting his crickets 2-3x per week. A shallow dish of 100% pure calcium should be placed in his tank 24/7.

Please thoroughly read the care recommendations crystal4u has linked. That will answer many of your questions.
