Default Leopard Gecko: adding new member to terrarium.

I have a 7-or-8 months old male Leopard Gecko. Very healthy, very active, and very docile (he allows us to pet him, and climbs and stays in our shoulders). He's 9 inches long, chubby and with a healthy fat tail.

Looking into adding another (or others) to the terrarium. I read about not adding another male as well as not adding just one female, to avoid rivalry, so let's say i will add two females. I also read about quarantining the newcomers for a period to avoid spreading unwanted deceases the newcomers may bring. so far so good.

My main concern is this: if i get two juveniles, what are the chances that the existing one will see the newcomers as prey, once they're added to the terrarium? has anyone had this issue when bringing new members to the environment?

Terrarium: Exo-Terra 36"(wide) x 24"(tall) x 18"(deep) with plenty of hideouts and moist hideout as well.

If you have an 8 month old male, you can't really add any other juveniles, male or female, without causing problems. Males at that age are sexually active, and they are very territorial. If you add another male in the tank, there will be fights and possibly death almost guaranteed. If you add a female, the male will attempt to mate with the female even if the female is not of age. This could lead to the female getting injured and stressed out.

Generally it's best to leave a male of sub-adult or adult age alone by himself. If you had a female of that size/age, you would still need to introduce a similar sized female in order to avoid bullying. And there's no guarantees they'll get along as leopard geckos are solitary creatures for the most part.

So at this point in time, since you have an 8 month old male that's quite large, it's best to leave him alone by himself. There's no possible way to add a smaller juvenile without causing problems. And if you were to add a similar sized female, the male & female will mate and you'd be needing to worry about incubating the eggs and care of the hatchlings. That's yet another thing I would not recommend to someone new to leopard geckos, as it's a daunting task.
