Default slate tile and daily cleaning solution?

I was wondering what everyone uses to clean their slate tile for daily cleaning?

I notice the poop stinks and is in the corner but want to make sure I'm cleaning the area well.

Is it ok to use vinegar in that area to wipe down as opposed to a wet tissue?

So in other words can I use vinegar to clean up the tile and will it harm my geckos?

You can use Virosan (Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2%) which is fairly safe and you won't have to remove your gecko to wipe a small area. You can also fold 2 sheets of paper towel and lay it right in the area your geckos poops and just dispose of it. Just make sure to remove the paper towel when feeding crickets, to avoid the gecko accidentally ripping and swallowing pieces of paper towel.
Mardy and Angey like this.

Yes, it's safe. I just don't like the strong smell. Mix it with water 50/50.

One of the downsides to slate and other natural stone tile as a substrate is that it's porous and thus it can harbor a lot of bacteria if not cleaned well. For simple daily spot cleaning a vinegar/water solution is fine. Or even hot water and dishwashing soap. For a more thorough cleaning, you can use a 10:1 water/bleach mix. I run my slate through the dishwasher occasionally so that I know that the water gets to temps hot enough to kill any bacteria.
