Went for crickets came home with a new lady friend (pics)
Yesterday I went to the pet store to get crickets and bedding and ferret shampoo ect. and ended up takeing home a female Cat Gecko. The shop has had two of them for a few weeks and they have looked very healthy every time I've been in there so I stoped resisting and brought her home. She pretty big and plump compared to others that I've seen. I've always liked felinus but now that I have had a chance to watch her and check out all her bizarre features up close I think I'm in love. The Claws are unlike any geckos I've ever seen, her face looks like a muppet, her tung is like that of a giraffe, and when she finds a place to take a nap the way she curls up is precious. I'm sure every one else in this section knows all that already but I'm just really psyched. I'm taking a brake from cage cleaning day between the ferret cage drying and trying to get motivated to drain and clean my gater snapper tank and my 90gal mata mata tank and posting a thread was the perfict excuse. heres some pics I snapped.
This is the "come on aready this is getting old, I need my beauty sleep" shot
thanks for checking out my photos, back to cleaning
Cheers

They are a very cool species . One of my favorites. I have worked with them for over five years now, and had a little success hatching a few. let me now if you have any questions.

Thanks I'll probably take you up on the advice some time soon, I've known the guy I bought her from for a like 10 years and he said he's probably getting some males in soon, so I might try my hand at breeding (imagine it's not easy but if nothing else I'll have another great gecko in my collection). I just have to make some space for another good size tank before I go getting another one. She's in a 10gal at the moment but I'm finishing up her permanent resedance today. It should be a good environment for her I think. it's an 18X18X24 zoo med open front and I made a diy tree stump for one side and a moss covered wall with drift wood and slate ledges for one of the walls. I made the stump out of expansion foam and coco fiber cause I didn't have the time or patience to make a grout background right now. hopefully it will look good and if not I'll just plant it heavily. thanks again and thanks everyone else to for checking the thread out.
