if you are going to get moss, get java moss It grows both aquatically and terrestrially and its tropical which means that it doesn't require a winter rest. Nearly all moss that they sell at pet shops, reptile shops, or online is temperate moss. It almost never does well in a vivarium, and when it does, dies suddenly when it doesn't get its winter rest. The pillow or frog moss thats pretty popular likes it cool and only grown on wood (solid piece of wood or woodchips) so it usually doesn't do well in a vivarium.
