Embedded feeding station
LOG IN TO CLOSE THIS AD
I've never seen any backgrounds with an area for the cups embedded into it and thought it could look really good were you able to do so.
What do you think?
And then theoretically, could always put the more traditional magnetic cups on the doors if they "had" to be on glass for some reason.
Thanks!

Welcome to Geckos Unlimited!
The only feeding ledges I recommend are clamp-type ledges that attach with a lever, not just suction cups. Those clamp ledges are very sturdy and less likely to fall off and land on top of things including, possibly, your crested gecko.
Feeding ledges aren't totally necessary. I place my crestie George's feeding dish right on top of pebble gravel (small rocks) that's contained in a 4 inch plastic plant pot. George does fine with that.Last edited by Elizabeth Freer; 12-16-2020 at 10:33 PM.

I use magnet feeding ledges and have problems because ultimately the metal magnet fixture on the inside starts to degrade because of the moisture. I've had better luck with suction cups and never tried clamps. The only thing to worry about with an embedded feeding cup is not being able to get it out to clean it. You can take care of that by placing one of those disposable plastic cups into the "embedded" cup.

I am a fairly artistic and creative kinda guy, but building this enclosure is kicking my butt. I never realized before how much I value symmetrical balance in things. My natural instinct is to lay everything all out in straight, even, matching dimensions. If there is a cork tube mounted on this side there HAS to be a cork tube of similar shape and size mounted at the same spot on the opposite side.
My little inner aspergers came out building this thing something fierce. It took two times of laying it out completely and then tearing it all down and starting again before I started to... relax about the "randomness" of it.
Do any of you build you own bioactive enclosures with all three sides decorated? How long did it take you to feel like ... It's done, now? As I keep wanting to add and do more.Post Thanks / Like - 0 Thanks, 1 LikesElizabeth Freer liked this post
