thank you hannibal. I'm just worried he's not actively feeding himself. He eats off a spoon for awhile but won't even look at the cgd when i put the cup right in front of him. Should I continue hand feeding him a few times a week or will he get too accustomed to this. More photos!

Just love his stripes! Since he is still a young one, they don't eat a whole lot. You can leave food in for 1-2 days then change out to fresh again. Sometimes you'll notice lick marks in their food and sometimes you don't. They will not starve themselves, so he'll eat when he gets hungry....probably after you've gone to sleep since they are more active at night. If you currently use papertowels for substrate, just monitor for very tiny poop about 1/2-3/4 the size of a grain of rice....if he's pooping, then he's eating.

Sometimes they will eat more when they are in a growth spurt. However, each gecho is different just like us humans, so they will grow at their own individual pace.

Oslo got a little treat today. I mixed some papaya fruit with chobani greek yogurt accented with strawberries and kiwi. I did have some guava nectar drink but wasn't sure about the ascorbic acid/ sugar content. Too my surprise, Oslo licked up the parts with the least fruit, the lighter parts which were mostly yogurt. I didn't blend up the mixture, just chopped the fruit up with a knife and mixed it. Do gargoyles shy away from small fruit bits or maybe he/she is waiting for it to ripen a little more. Oslo also refuses to eat the little bits in CGD and just lets them rest on his/her lip.

If you use fresh fruit, it needs to be smashed so it is easier to eat. The really do enjoy fruit that is over-ripe, because it is so soft & has a strong sweet smell to it.
