Default New gecko...not seeing poop.

I have a gargoyle gecko. Had him bout a week and a half now. Been trying to feed him repashy with a bit of peach baby food mixed in. (thats what the breeder has been feeding him) I havent seen any poop in the cage yet. Should I be concerned? Ive seen him drink, his color is nice and dark and appears to be active I have seen him move to different spots at night. I cant see any licks in the food but I know they dont eat much. I tried placibg a dab on his nose and he licked it off. Should I be concerned?

There's probably more but you can't see it. Since your crestie is still considered a baby at that size, as you noticed the poop is very small. If you find a poop within an hour or so of the deed then it is a nice pump/moist poop (yet very small). As time goes by since the deed was done, it dehydrates and shrinks up to maybe 1/4 of it's original size making it extremely hard to find. They can also poop underneath leaves, branches, ect which makes it even harder to locate. My babies are on papertowels and I sometimes find their poop underneath it when I change it out.

The best thing to do when they are this small is to get a scale that weighs in the tenth of a gram. Then weigh weekly to make sure weight is either maintained or increasing...this mean the baby is eating enough. If there is weight loss, then it is not getting enough food or is not metabolizing it properly (most likely not eating).

Hope this helped some.

I have no idea....maybe the section where they have gone poop has a little air under it making it a little higher in certain areas and it rolls down to the edge; then from the little one running around the paper towel shifts the paper towel just a little so the poop goes from the edge of the paper towel/tank meet to under the paper towel. Just guessing....
