Default Heating Advice for New Gargoyle

Hi,

I pick my new Gargoyle up on Thursday, yesterday I have started to set her viv up but as my house is quite cold with the room temp around 65, I'm going to need a heat source, I wanted to use a ceramic bulb but I'm not sure what kind of holder to go for it, I've seen two, a wire one and like a porcelain bowl??
Also how do I position the heater, I know its supposed to stay outside the viv but should it rest directly on the wire mesh lid facing straight down or at an angle? (the viv I have is an Exo Terra 60X45X45)

If I was to use a heat mat instead where is best to place it? is it on the sides or underneath, can it be placed behind the fake background inside the viv itself? I really want to make sure I don't crack the viv through the use of a heat mat as I want to sell it at some point so I can up grade

I have a pulse Thermostat to control whichever I decide to use.

Sorry for all the questions but this is the first time I've tried to set up a viv for a Gargoyle, I have only had Leos before

Any advice will be greatly received.

I have not had any problems with this. I got my garg last summer and in the winter the ambient temp is in the low 60's. I do have a compact flourescent (low wattage) since it's a planted tank. She was fine all winter and is growing well. I have more problems in the summer since the ambient temp can get up to 89, but I have a "condo" cage in the basement and she goes down there when it gets too hot.

If the temps is around 65 in the room and there are just a couple geckos in the room, then I use a 25watt red bulb to warm up each of the enclosure.

But as my collection has grown this past year, I do use a space heater in the winter time to keeps the temps between 68-70 (little cooler for the breeding females). My space heater has a digital control on it and allow me to program a temp span. If the temp drops below my preset temp it kicks on and once it reaches the high preset temp it turns off until it drops below my preset temp again. Due to the space heater can dry out the air, when I due use it I also use a warm mist humidifier to help keep the humidity levels within the proper range.
