Question Regarding Repashy Mixes
Just picked up two gargs from the pomona super show and have a couple questions. through my researched ive read that the gargs tend to be very stubborn when it comes to eating. First question is, what Flavor of repashy cgd has worked best for you?
Secondly, ive noticed some bright red and orange colorations. Mine are the typical tannish color fired-down and dark brown/black when fired-up. If i were to supplement the repashy cgd and crickets with Repashy Superpig would it enhance their colors to the intense reds and oranges?
Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

I feed mine the original flavor (strawberry/banana). She laps it up. As far as the Superpig goes, it's not going to turn your garg bright red. Those really red/orange/yellow/etc gargs you see were bred to be like that. It's genetics. The Superpig just intensifies the colors your gecko already has. It doesn't add any. [It won't turn a brown gecko red.]

I've never experienced picky gargs, but I sure have heard others say that they have. I'd just use the original flavor as already advised by the previous poster.
I don't have any experience with superpig, but just as an opinion, if you ever plan to breed the animal I wouldn't recommend using it. Assuming it works, I'd be ticked if I bought a hatchling and the parents were being fed food that makes them more colorful than they are naturally. It wouldn't be an accurate representation of the parents colors.

I agree completely. Even though it wouldn't make the colors different, people would think that the gecko's colors were brighter than they really are. However, if you're just feeding it to geckos you are keeping as pets [and not breeding] for your own enjoyment then I think it's okay.

My gargs will eat all the flavors, they are only picky about insects when offered. The Rapaahy CGD does contain some superpig already in it.

Pretty sure the standard diet has a percentage of the super pig already baked in. The best way to deal with picky eaters is not give them options.

The repashy mixes do have a small percentage of superpig already in them, but what they are talking about is mixing in additional superpig to increase its effects.

Thanks for the input everyone. Picks of the newly acquired gargs will be up soon. A little off topic but it's a trip getting back into the game after a couple of years. crazy to see how much things have changed as far as demand for certain species. I have dendros to thank for bringing me back haha

Charles, I assume the same thing. However, IMO, that doesn't really make much difference since most everybody uses repashy CGD. As long as that's true, it doesn't matter if there's pigment enhancer in the diet. The difference would come into play if there was a product (again, I don't have any experience with superpig) that would significantly increase the color of an animal. Unless it's admitted upfront, I just don't think it would be fair to the buyer.
Also, I agree that picky eaters are picky because they can be. Reptiles don't have the same requirements as mammals, and you're exactly right I think.
