So I was set on getting a crested gecko. I spent weeks and weeks researching exactly what morphs and colors I liked most and planning what I was willing to spend. I was sure that I would go to Tinley and pick up a lavender pinner (at least 80%), hopefully with lateral pins too.
But then, a few days ago I began to feel some doubt. Cresties can be beautiful, but I saw a picture of a beautiful pail striped gargoyle and the doubt was born. I just couldn't make the decision!
So I went to Tinley today still unsure. As soon as I walked in, at the very first table I went to I found a crested gecko that I really liked. I found one at the second table too. Then, aisles later, I found a beautiful orange super striped gargoyle gecko. She's beautiful! So conflicted. I kept going, I didn't want to make a purchase until I'd seen everything available. I found another crestie I really liked at the last table of geckos. Ahhh! What to do? I really can only get one gecko right now, and time is running out. I revisited all the geckos I really liked, they were all still there (darn it, I hoped a few would have been purchased already).
Then I noticed something, I couldn't make my mind up about those three crested geckos because they were all nearly identical! They were all high percentage pinners, they were all a pretty warm grey fired down and a really dark chocolate fired up with pretty cream dorsals and either lateral pinstripes or portholes, they all had decent structure (not great, but good enough). There were so many crested geckos available that even going in looking for something rather specific I was able to find three that were so similar that the differences were inconsequential. The gargoyle gecko was something a little bit different, more special.
So, I'm introducing Sienna--otherwise known as Sia!
