Default The best egg lay substrate?

Hey there. I usually use perlite and vermiculite mix as a lay substrate, but i've seen a couple of youtube videos with something that looked like soil...
What do you use ?

Thank you

I stick with the classics...either perlite or vermiculite. They're cheap, easy to find, and proven many thousands of times over by breeders for years and years. But there are some other, newer products out there too that I'm sure other will speak up for. I just figure, like the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

All my girls have ignored their layboxes & just used their eco earth substrate to lay their eggs in....we then incubate them with superhatch.

I use primarily dry eco earth or reptibark to discourage my rhacs from laying in the substrate directly. It doesn't always work, but it does the vast majority of the time. For the lay box itself I use mostly eco earth with a small amount of sand mixed in to help hold moisture better. I just started using this eco/sand mix last year with great results.
