So close to getting a garg!

I am thinking about getting a gargoyle gecko to expand my collection, i have posted in other threads, but i have decided to get another Rhac. Both parents are red retics and the baby is gray and is just starting to get some red in.

i am rearranging my room and changing up my tanks so i will have 3 20 gallon long vertical conversions.

2 crested and soon to be 1 garg.

Any garg help? i have read that the care is almost identical to cresteds...

The care is pretty much the exact same, but since adult gargs can't stick to gass due to their bulk (babies & most juvies can for while) you should add more climbing vines/branches for them than you would a crestie. Gargs do prefer thicker vines/branches, again due to their bulkier size....everything else is the same.

Ok will do! he/she will live in a 20 gallon long vertical for ever, is that otay? other wise i would invest more...

Moosenart: I know exactly how you feel! I'm also very close to getting my first garg! I'm picking her up over xmas while I'm visiting home! I can't wait! I'm also getting another shipped to me as soon as weather warms ( or picking her up on the way home from xmas break- weather permitting)
My set ups are a 40 gallon vertical and a 30 gallon vertical with lots of thick branches and fake foliage cover. I think a 20 gallon would be fine for one adult.
I can't wait to see pictures!

The 20g vertical should be perfect. Looking forward to seeing photos of your little cutie! The red base coloring will continue to redden up until he/she is about 30-38grams. You'll be amazed on how much color they can get.

The guy said he can ship in winter...i am scared but he gave me dead animal refund! i live in denver, colorado and as of 9:50pm mtn time is -5 at my house..it is pretty cold.

all i have to do is sterilize the tank and fill it up!

Body temps in the upper 50s to low 60s are ok for rhacs for seversal hours, just not as a permanent temp. I personally don't ship if temp is below 40 degrees at either end. He had better ship with a pretty nice heat pack to keep the little one warm enough especially since your temps are below freezing...way below freezing. Hope the little one arrives safely!
