Default Banana and Northland Green Gecko...

Hi,

in addition to insects my Naultinus grayii love banana, Manuka honey etc. I think this picture is the proof :

Lazy female hanging down the Manuka and licking on a piece of banana .

Regards,

Hi Chris,
nice pic to prove!
And I agree Mario, you should have a carefull eye on the digestion after feeding banana and banana-babyfood too, they need a "good drink" afterwards. But they love it and it is a good possibility to give Calcium in addition, I usualy give it twice a month. BTW, peach-maracuja is a "good stuff" too,
best regards
Michael

Same restriction for banana-basis food.

As you know banana is a potassium-heavy food and without enough water can be dangerous for kidney's fonction.

I give once a week in addition to the insects a peach-apple mixed baby food (Nestlé stage 1) : 225 KJ- 12 mg vit C -0.4 g protids- 12.6 g glucids and only 0,1 g lipids and 0.01 g NaCl pro 100 g.

But my grayii are only 9 monthes old and the matabolism is not the same than grown-up geckos.

For the other addition I use Nekton MSA and ........ the sun !

Hi guys,

thanks for the comments. It's great to finally find somebody to share experience with these beautiful creatures. Lots of NZ gecko keepers are not so "talkative" which I can partly understand but nevertheless I think it's very important to share knowledge so everybody can optimize their captive care conditions.

Thanks!!!

Chris

Manuka honey is a great idea !

We use it against inflammation and it is an alternative therapy for the prostatitis !

His property against bacterial agents is well known.
