    Mardy,

I did not see this reply until now. I'm not sour, I'm actually sad. You know, I really have difficulties communicating in writing. Everything I say seems to come off as an argument. We are adults, so please don't take what I'm going to say offensively.

Part of it, I will speak publically simply because I want to correct what you have assumed. I may send you a PM about the rest.

    I did not assume:

How your geckos are housed- I watched your You Tube video
What you dust with- You have mentioned it many times
I do not have a bias against all breeders- only irresponsible ones-you're not included

The only reason I mentioned your experience was simply to bring to your attention that you are in a learning phase. It was not an insult. I have a friend who has been breeding leos for 15 years and the information you claim is not consistent with hers. She stopped breeding last year as a matter of fact after she realized how many leos were being mistreated. She found out that some of the geckos ended up in rescue centers, others died from poor husbandry. She began feeling like she was committing an injustice to the geckos. She made the decision to stop on her own. Yes, some of the neglected geckos ended up in my place and this is how we met a few years ago.

I was trying to lay in front of you all the possibilities of why your geckos may stop eating at times. Such as the intense heat during the summer and the fact that you only provide belly heat in the winter. Again, I was expecting you to say, hum perhaps I'll try to change something and test it out for myself to see if it's true. I never thought you would take it as criticism. If someone told me that perhaps a detail that I was not providing could be the source of the problem sometimes, I would consider testing it out.

Now that we have discussed how close your geckos are housed, perhaps that's why they have more of a tendency to do what many others don't?

Here's a point to ponder upon. I have only one female now, but even when I had others, they only went off food for a few days and not always. They have never tried to escape, however I have always housed them far apart.

Just one more thing, I don't know what made you think I only feed crickets when I state all the time how important variety is? I feed at least 5 different insect and rotate constantly. The hornworms have way more moisture than superworms and my geckos never have diarrhea. My hand to god Mardy.
