Random death
well I had my electric blue day geckos for a little over a week and they seemed to be doing great, but today I waked in to find my male dead. Idk why, my temps were where they were sopossed to be, so was my humidity, he was eating fine and seemed fine like 30 minutes before and then he just died. Do yall have any idea why?

Very strange and I am sorry this happened to you. It is especially frustrating to lose a prized animal without learning a lesson you can apply in the future. Not likely, but is it possible that it somehow was shocked...?, electical or extreme stess event (a cat jumped up on the cage? for example...)
I have lost a few animals over the years for no apparent reason, it is really dissapointing. I lost a hatchling L. williamsi for no apparent reason, yet its sibling seems to be thriving. Sometimes a necropsy may be revealing, i.e. excessive parasite load, impactions from foreign matter ingested, etc. You might want to examine if you have the "stomach" for it... Your recently axquired and probably imported male may have been through a harrowing and stressful experience, and the various stressors just overwhemed it. I wish you luck in the future and with that surviving female(s).

I agree on the necropsy, always better to be safe than sorry, esp if the death was unexplained, you have more than one animal and you plan to breed.
I am sorry for your loss!

What have you been feeding it? How often?
Was it WC?
Was it housed with other males?
Was it shipped in cold weather?
Are you sure that the temp and humidity was right?
Maybe post temp and humidity. Maybe a second opinion from another "doctor" will help.
Give us some more details and maybe together we can find out what happened.

Well it was a captive bred, got it from an expo, housed with one female, cat lives outdoors, Yea I'm sure the temp/ humidity were right, I only had it a wek but I fed them 2 dozed crickets once a week (the crickets would get down and hide and were eaten periodically throughout the week).
I believe it might have been a parasite due to the fact that even though he had been eating fine he still seemed skinny?
I don't know, but I still have my female, I plan to get another breeding pair and have 1 male with 2 females.

If you suspect parasites to be the cause for death you should have a necropsy done so you can nip the problem in the bud with the remaining gecko. I would also advise on placing anybody new with the remaining gecko until you have results back. If you do not still have the body, you can send fecals in to be tested.

They eat fruit, and pinhead crickets or fruit flies. Did you offer fruit, repashy, or supplemented baby food, or did you just feed crickets? What size of crickets?

Pinhead crickets, and yes I have repashy and fruit. I only had them a week so I hadn't offered it yet

Sorry to hear about that.
Definitely keep your female alone for a while, never introduce other animals until you're 100% sure they're healthy. Also it might be best to just keep 1.1 together, I've tried 1.2, theere always seems to be a dominant female who causes the other to get stressed out and lose weight. For how often they lay eggs, they need every bit of body fat to stay healthy. If your pair is anythin like mine, thy will also probably need to be seperated at some point. Good luck!
