i have 2 of these a very vibrant blue one and a greenish,brownish blue one (bought as female) but i have saw her puff her throat out a few times and although he has huge man bits i cant help thinking that the base of her tail is just as broad with slight bumps.

They do. Dominant females can be just as aggressive--I have one who even dominates the male.
However, supressed males can look like females, so if you can get him/her up on the glass, and look closely--check for preanal pores. I found it helpful to take some clear photos and post them up here. Folks told me I had a girl, and they're right. She's just a really pushy girl. lol
