Default Williamsi Gecko Help

Hello Everyone,
I'm very new at this bloging thing and these geckos. I am very worried and have a few questions if anyone can help PLEASE!!

First off I have two lovely little williamsi geckos one is male and the other I was told was a female but I worry becuase she is aggressive towards the male and I saw her bite him the other day (well first she licked him and then she bite him, seems like some pretty evil fourplay to me). But today the male bite her, is this normal?

Secondly I have a mite problem unfortunatly I bouht them at a reptile expo a week ago and did not notice they had mites, I called the guy up who sold them to me, but he ddn't seem to care about my concern sp can anyone help me out what can I do?

Third! my boy is not a good eater at all, I change the food up every day and keep it in the same spot, I haven`t seen either one of them eat out of the bowel. The `female`` will lick food off my fingures and take crickets from the twizer but the boy shakes his head side to side when I hold a cricket infront of him ( it`s like feeding a two year old!) and the other day he had a staring contest with a cricket and needless to say the cricket won! I try at least a few times a day to had feed him I put it on his noes and he licks it off and sometimes if I`m a little pushy he will take a few licks and then run away. Though he does enjoy the spray of water twice a day he will drink way more then the female.

Lastly they are both pretty active and really enjoy climbing up high on the large bark and jumping off on to the plants below, I worry about thier cimlbing abilities the girl is not bad, but the boy can only climb the bark and the glass when it is wet, if the glass is dry it looks like a fish out of water trying to swim.

This is all I have for now if anyone can help please do!.

Separate them into their own enclosures. Dust the insects with calcium in case the "fish out of water trying to swim" is actually convulsions indicating a deficiency in calcium in their diet.

Thank you for that advice! I'm going to try to post pictures so maybe you can tell me if my "female" is male or really female. Do you suggest to move the boy out of his home or the girl?

I don't think a gecko scrambling against the glass when it can't get a foothold is the same as a gecko having convulsions. I would say he probably has stuck shed on his toe pads, not a calcium deficiency. They do need UVB light and calcium supplements, though.

I do agree you should separate them, and use a little bit of olive oil on a q-tip to get those mites. Just dab them individually. Hold off on putting them in a fancy planted viv until you get the mites taken care of.

Try feeding flightless fruit flies if the male isn't interested in crickets. I have found some of the males can be quite shy and take longer to acclimate.

Thank you all for your help.

I haven't tried flightless fruit flys becuase everywhere I go no on has them. I have tried the olive oil a few times, but I only mangaged to get one mite off.

But unfortunatly I have some very sad and depressing news, as ironic as this sounds today my non eating gecko was found dead in his food dish .

I was wondering if the Female who might be a submissive male might show his/her true blue if she/ he actually is a he????

Thank you!
